Bus model kits
I have several bus models. They were built between 1997-1999. The first finished is Citybus (Leyland Olympian) and STCUM (Nova Bus LFS) is the most recent. The first model is a Leyland Olympian by Tower Models. It is a 1:76 scale plastic kit. Originally a Blackpool bus, I painted it as a China Motor Bus. Actually, there was no single-door Leyland Olympian in the CMB fleet. However, a two-door version (BR) did exist. The second model is a Daimler CVG6LX East Lancashire by Model Transport Supplies. Also a 1:76 scale plastic kit, originally as a Bradford City Transport or a Huddersfield Corporation bus, I painted it as a Kowloon Motor Bus. Although not exactly the same, KMB do have this type of model. The third one is another Leyland Olympian by Tower Models, a 1:76 scale plastic kit. Originally a London Metrobus, I painted it as a Citybus. The exact model can be found in the Citybus fleet. The most recent model that I have made and the most creative one, is the Nova Bus LFS. This is a newly designed low-floor urban transit bus. Launched in 1996, Montreal was the first city to enjoy its service. I wished to get a Montreal bus model for a long time but I have never found one. So, I decided to build one by myself. I know making a Nova LFS is more difficult than a Nova Classic but I chose the LFS because it is the newest model. I used some thin sheets of wood, plastic and old stuffs from other model such as the tires. It is approximately 1:35 scaled. It took me more than two weeks to finish it. The first photo is the view from the side; the second is the front view; the third shows the detail inside the bus; the fourth is the view from the rear of the bus and the fifth is an actual Nova LFS in downtown Montreal. Die-cast bus models Other than the hand made models, I also collect die-cast bus models. My personal preference is China Motor Bus. Here are the details of my fleet:
Photo of these models will be available soon. All of them are gracious gifts from my friends and relatives. Links |
